More Middle East polyethylene shipments are expected to be exported to Asia and west Africa as new capacity is put into production, market sources said on Monday. Net demand for negative Asian demand is expected in the long term to absorb additional polyethylene supplies from Asia and the Middle East.
But now, because of the recent slump in the price of polyethylene in Asia and the us, Middle East polyethylene producers are now seeking to sell their products to Europe.
This year, around 13 million tons of new polyethylene production is expected to be added globally, with more than half coming from Asia and the Middle East.
