The latest trend of China's plastics recycling industry

Shanghai -- although the Chinese government has taken steps to control the import of waste plastics, the plastic recycling industry will continue to grow in double digits.
China plastics processing industry association plastic recycling committee will changning red tao in the 2014 China international displaying (Chinaplas) green said in a statement on the BBS, China is still the world's largest importer of waste plastics and at the same time, domestic waste plastics recycling and utilization of the Numbers are growing.
He said that the implementation of the hedge last year resulted in a drop of 1m tonnes of waste plastic imports, a modest decline compared with expectations.
He added that while some senior companies have scaled back imports or transformed into other businesses, there has been a gradual increase in new applications to import waste plastics. China has more than 3,000 registered waste plastics imported and processing enterprises.
At present, there are more than 10,000 enterprises engaged in waste plastic processing in China.
In China's total waste plastic recycling, the proportion of imports is not very high. According to the data compiled by the special committee, the total amount of the 24.9 million tons of recycled plastic in 2013 was 7.9 million tons, accounting for just over 30 percent.
The eu is still the largest source of waste plastics imported from China, accounting for a quarter of China's total waste plastic imports.
More than 40 per cent of China's total plastic recycling industry is carried out by large and medium-sized enterprises, ning said. Most of these enterprises are distributed in the developed areas of coastal plastic processing, with relatively stable import/source and distribution channels and relatively high profits.
Large renewable enterprises in the central and western regions are mainly engaged in recycling and recycling domestic plastics.
Guangdong, zhejiang, fujian, shandong and hebei provinces are the main recycling and processing centers, and each region has different priorities.
Tianjin, hebei and shandong provinces are mainly recycling high grade LDPE films and HDPE materials. Zhejiang, Shanghai and jiangsu need clean PET, HDPE, polypropylene and some engineering materials. Fujian has a high demand for low-grade LDPE membranes. Guangdong has a large consumption of engineering plastics and some PE, PP and PET.
China's plastic recycling rate has risen steadily in the past five years, reaching 30 percent in 2013.
A large number of small and medium-sized enterprises have specialized division of labor, efficient logistics and distribution network, and strong competition and survival ability. But these enterprises generally lack environmental awareness, which has become the government's normative focus. Mr Ning pointed out that the current policy requires more environmentally friendly measures to be adopted by renewable enterprises, and that large enterprises are more easily supported by policies and that small enterprises' living space will be gradually lost.
Some severely polluting small businesses will launch the market, while others will move to large regenerated industrial parks.
China's urgent need for regularized and large-scale plastic regenerating enterprises is a combination of factors, said ning.
