China's "hedge" action benefits the American recycling industry
In recent years, China's strict control over import waste has actually helped the U.S. recycling industry.
2015 plastic recycling conference held recently in Dallas, attend workshops, experts say it is not only removed some irregularities in the industry, also brought opportunities for the regeneration of enterprise.
After consumption of plastic manufacturers association executive director Steve Alexander said: "for us plastic recycling companies, the most interesting is that China implementing hedgerow action actually makes us more to pay attention to material quality, and leave more recycled materials in North America."
U.S. renewable companies are focused on developing "secondary sorting activities" to make renewable streams cleaner and build infrastructure to deal with materials that have not been fully recycled.
"We believe that all plastics are renewable," Alexander said. The problem is just how to sort them out and find new markets."
He points to polypropylene as an example of a growing market for renewable energy.
"It has a lot of positive effects," Robin Wiener, President of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc., said of the hedge. One of them is undoubtedly the industry's commitment to new technologies to identify and pick up plastics and improve quality."
