"Spring" in the global market for renewable plastics
Look from the global renewable plastic industry market status quo, to say the recycled plastic industry is in hot water, while raw material prices remain strong, but plastic reworked material prices are under pressure.
There are two main factors in the analysis of the plastics industry. On the one hand, most of the quality of the selected plastics is said to be quite poor; On the other hand, recycled plastic materials for recycling are extremely scarce. These two factors have given a major blow to the global recycling industry, so that the current packaging waste from Germany's recycling system has been targeted to other countries. It is understood that the market distortion in the plastic market occurred in the PP and PS market, as well as the shortage of raw materials. As a result, Germany's recycling system is currently providing only recycled plastics to its subsidiaries of plastic recycling plants. The 2015 quota for other plastic recyclers was cancelled and many factories closed.
Of course, more recycled plastic will be exported to the far east. The export of recycled plastic in the far east is not affordable for European domestic plastic recyclers. It may be hoped that the Chinese New Year will bring a slight drop in demand from the far east.
According to the statistics of the plastic market, the price of universal recycled plastic is basically unchanged. Up to date, the latest figures do not reflect distortions in the market.
So far, markets around the world have seen no signs of a winter shutdown. Companies that are lucky enough to have enough raw materials to process are still in production until the end of last year. There has been an increase in purchasing and sales activity in the plastic market.
In the fourth quarter of last year, Europe's recycled plastic market was in a mess, particularly in November and December, and the market was seriously distorted. However, while the price of recycled plastic is under great downward pressure, the price of productive raw materials, especially the packaging materials, has remained firm. This is what makes plastic recyclers in Europe more difficult than ever before.
In response to the global market for recycled plastic, countries will implement a home-grown, improved programme aimed at changing the global market for recycled plastics in the first quarter of this year.
