Demand for injection molding machines continues to grow in North America
The car industry will accelerate as demand for new cars continues to rise in North America. As an important market of injection molding machine, the automobile industry is still increasing the procurement of related equipment. Many injection molding machine manufacturers are more optimistic about the future market of this region. In North America, the strong growth in the auto industry in recent years has driven sales of injection moulding machines, up from 1,285 in 2009 to 3,307 in 2012. Dave Lawrence, President of milakron plastics machinery and DME mold technology, expects orders to reach 3,400-3,500 units in 2013, up 5% to 6% from 2012. He noted that the market may be more inclined to choose large tonnage machines. For sales in 2014, most of the machinery makers thought they would be flat or slightly higher in 2013. Auto analysts expect sales in the U.S. to hit 15.5 million vehicles this year and 16 million in 2014, returning to pre-recession levels.
