Mexico's exports to the European Union in the first quarter were up fivefold from a year earlier
From the European Union statistics agency Eurostat (Eurostat) published the latest statistics show that, compared with the first quarter of last year Mexico's exports to the eu in the first quarter of this year the 61926 tons of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), compared with the increased five times.
The surge came after Mexico petrochemical corp., the largest manufacturer of PVC in Mexico, bought Vestolit, Germany, for 219 million euros ($248 million) in December 2014. Sources said last year that Vestolit is expected to become a European distributor of 200,000 tons of PVC production in 2016.
In the first quarter of this year, Mexico's total imports of PVC imported from the European Union fell to 45.16% from 48.69% in the same period last year.
