WL Plastics new HDPE pipeline plant in Georgia
WL Plastics, a maker of high-density polyethylene pipes, will invest $12 million to build a new production facility in brock county, Georgia, that will create 40 jobs. Headquartered in fort worth, Texas, the company now operates seven factories in the United States and Canada, with 335 employees. The new plant will be located in steitsboro, about 55 miles from savannah. Michael Dahl, director of pipeline WL Plastics, said in a conference call that the new plant will start operating in the fourth quarter of this year. Dahl said the new plant will make the HDPE pipeline, which ranges from half an inch to 54 inches, mainly in water, wastewater, oil, natural gas and other pipelines. Founded in Wyoming 15 years ago, the company provides water, sewage and industrial pipelines. The second plant was established in Utah in 2004. Other acquisitions or new projects are in alberta, Texas. The seven factories now produce more than 500 million pounds a year.
